This weeks app, Activity Timer - Pomodoro Edition, is a simple timer with a simple philosophy. You work hard for 25 minutes and then take a 5 minute break. This is known as a “Pomodoro”. The Pomodoro technique has a lot of benefits compared to just sitting down and working from eliminating distractions to preventing burnout. If a typical “work” day means bouncing between email, social media, Reddit, and your actual work this technique is for you. The “Pomodoro method” is a powerful tool for focus. You set your timer to cycle between 25 minutes of work and 5 minutes of break. You work as hard as you can and don’t allow any distractions for those 25 minutes. The Activity Timer - Pomodoro Edition lives on your menu bar and allows you to quickly set the timer and get to work.
My only complaint is the menu that pops down when you press the icon. Why not just have a list of timers that you click on to start. Rather than making me find the timer I want then click start.
