Inky is an innovative email client that can filter out different types of email and figure out what is relevant to you. I was flabbergasted when I first started reading about Inky because it paralleled the vision I wrote about a few weeks ago in ’The Future Of Email’ in quite a few ways. Here are a couple interesting things it does:
Smart categories separate things like “Daily Deals,” “Packages,” “Personal,” and much more. This allows you to easily find the type of email you are looking for. (I would like to see categories for receipts and site sign ups.)
Beside each email is an ink drop of varying shades. It will be darker or lighter depending on how relevant Inky thinks the email is. You can manually change how relevant an email is and Inky will learn over time what is important to you.
You don’t need to worry about your emails being sent to the cloud to be sorted/analyzed. Everything is sorted on your computer with settings to choose how much computing power can be devoted to Inky.
Inky looks really cool and if it will become my default email client if it lives up to its promises. I haven’t been using it very long but the first impressions are very good.
