The iOS App Store is overrun with so many to do/task manager apps that it makes it hard for developers to differentiate. Gneo rises above the rest by not only looking better and offering all the advanced features other apps offer but by having very innovative UI. Switching between different panes is reminiscent of Tweetbot 3 for iPhone not that it is the same but it offers that little bit of joy that comes with unique movement. Gneo offers all the features you could want from a to-do/task manager including adding notes, due dates, location but it also allows you to add tags and set if a task is ‘Urgent’ or ‘Important’. (Or both)
It has several different ways you can view your tasks from a calendar view, list view, to a unique 4 pane window which sorts tasks by their urgency or importance. It also has Smart Notebooks that make seeing specific tasks easier.
I originally bought Gneo when it was first launched. It was offered at a significant discount and the video made a very compelling case for the app. I bought it thinking it would become my new task manager and was severely disappointed. I don’t think there was an iPhone version at the time and the iPad version was buggy to the point of being unusable. There was also no way to view your tasks on a Mac which was a deal breaker for me. However, I retried the app and it is much more polished today. There is an iPhone version and the team says they are working on desktop apps. The thing is the app itself is so compelling I find myself using it even with the annoyance of not having a Mac version.
Update: You can link Gneo with Evernote to create and view tasks on a Mac. (Or any platform supporting Evernote.)
