Note: I played the iPad version.
I hesitated buying the action/adventure/RPG Wayward Souls not because of the price but because I was worried about controls. I had been burned too many times with poor controls on the touch screen. That is absolutely not the case here, the game handles like a dream. It is a super fun “rogue-like” dungeon crawler that you guide different classes through the randomly generated dungeons. Rogue-like refers to the fact that you only have one life and then you have to restart the level. Don’t be intimidated, dying isn’t a big deal. (You get to keep the coins you accrue even if you die.) The fighting is based off your skill, not how much grinding you do, which I love. The game is tough but very satisfying and the developers are adding content regularly.
I honestly love their pricing model, which is every time they add content they increase the price by a dollar. No sales or discounts. Pay the money they ask, the app is more than worth it.
- Controls are the best I’ve ever seen for this type of game on iOS.
- Super fun
- Hours of gameplay
- It’s addicting and I have work to do. (Please take my iPad away from me.)
