I usually try and highlight less popular apps with this feature but Evernote has kind of changed my digital life the last few weeks. Evernote is a digital notebook that allows you to save almost anything. From text notes to web pages to PDF’s and more. It supports stacked notebooks and tags to make organization easy, you can OCR images to make the text searchable, it has great 3rd party integration and it has an amazing web clipper for the desktop. It’s such a comprehensive experience I really have come to rely on it. As much as I like my plain text/Markdown files saved to the cloud, Evernote makes a really good argument for putting everything in their app.
I still write these posts with Markdown and plain text files but pretty much all the source material I save for this site goes into Evernote now. Everything I want to check out later goes into Evernote, and it’s becoming the receptacle for more and more things as I use it more.
There is no Markdown support which is how I write. Everything is kind of trapped in Evernote unless you want to manually cut and past notes out.
